Band-aids hiding your heart

You look so excited because you've found another one,
A band-aid
to heal your alleged broken heart.

I don't remember you ever crying
which was the first clue
when the very first one broke up with you,

but then again
I've missed a lot.

I never saw a tear
As the second one came and went,

But then again
you only were together for a month.

I only saw the outline of a smile on your face when you met number three and refused to tell anyone but me,

And I hardly saw a frown
when you broke up with her and
I was the last to know, two girlfriends later.

But then again
your phone was broken and
the internet at your house was down and you couldn't just tell me.

When number six became a part of your life.
She sat with you and eased you through your last break up
(which you were very adamant to tell me
that you broke up with her
not that I cared to know).

You asked me if two people can just be amazing friends
and I told you, "Of course I'm just amazed that you found one by the side of the road."

A day later you bragged to me that you had a new one and asked me to guess who.

Lucky guess.

So when 3 weeks later you decided to have feelings for someone else
who was already in a relationship
I told you to stick it out.

Here we are a week later
And your not with who you told me you wanted to be with.

But seven is lucky and if she can see
the trail of dry tissues in your wake
and scattered band aids
then maybe
just maybe
She won't cry a bit when you break up in a month
Just like you always do.
